Weeds…the bane of every gardener’s existence. Am I right or am I right? We’ve all got them, we all hate them. Especially when the heat of summer rolls in and the weeds seem to grow faster than the garden plants. Somehow it seems no matter, heat, flood, drought…the weeds grow on happy as can be.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am more than happy to leave all the dandelions and clover in my yard to keep the friendly honeybees happy and fed, but when those dandelions start popping their ugly yellow heads up between my tomatoes and onions… well that means war!
With adding to our family and the busyness that accompanies pregnancy and a new child, the weeds have not only won the battle, they were winning the war. Following the devastating loss of my strawberry bed to weeds, I decided I needed something to level the playing field.
I began researching the safest and most natural weed solutions that worked. I refuse to use Round-Up or any other environmentally damaging and chemical laden product around my pets or family, so when I found this recipe I was overjoyed (and when I tried it and it worked oh so well, I was ecstatic!). I can’t take credit for this recipe, and I’ve honestly seen it so many places online now I wouldn’t even know who to credit it to, but they are a genius!
So…drumroll please…here is the amazing solution to your weed problems…
Miracle Weed Solution
1 gallon white vinegar
1/2 cup epsom salts
1/4 cup dawn dish detergent
Mix together in a sprayer (like this one) for easy targeted weed control, and spray on weeds on a nice sunny day to watch them wither and die.
Sit back with some lemonade and enjoy the sweet smell of victory…or is that dish soap? Either way…
